Thymogen directly stimulates the differentiation and proliferation of T-lymphocyte precursors in the thymus, increasing the output of mature, functional T-cells. It enhances the expression of IL-2 and interferon-gamma, cytokines essential for cell-mediated immune responses. Thymogen also normalises the balance between regulatory T-cells and effector T-cells (a balance disrupted by chronic stress, aging, and infection) and improves the responsiveness of peripheral immune cells to antigenic stimulation. Its dipeptide structure ensures stability and predictable pharmacokinetics.

Thymogen (alpha-glutamyl-tryptophan) is a dipeptide (the minimal structural unit of thymic activity) offering the precision of a synthetic compound with the specificity of thymic peptides. Its small size ensures excellent stability and predictable pharmacokinetics.
Thymogen promotes the maturation of T-lymphocyte precursors into functional CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells, supporting the production of both helper cells and cytotoxic effectors needed for comprehensive immune competence.
By elevating IL-2 and interferon-gamma production, Thymogen amplifies cell-mediated immunity: the arm of the immune system most important for antiviral defence, anti-tumour surveillance, and chronic infection control.
Thymogen normalises the Treg/effector T-cell balance disrupted by chronic stress, aging, and immune suppression. This balance restoration is critical for preventing both immunodeficiency (too few effectors) and autoimmune activation (too few regulators).
Unlike polypeptide thymic extracts (Thymalin) which contain a complex mixture, Thymogen's single defined dipeptide structure allows precise dosing with reproducible effects: advantageous for protocols requiring consistent, predictable immunomodulation.

Thymogen has an excellent safety profile established across decades of clinical use in Russia and Eastern Europe. As a simple dipeptide with thymic biological activity, it is highly biocompatible and non-toxic. Injection site reactions are the only consistently reported adverse effect. No immunosuppression, hormonal disruption, or organ toxicity has been documented. Its minimal molecular size limits off-target activity. Caution is advised in individuals with autoimmune conditions, as T-cell enhancement could theoretically amplify autoimmune activity in predisposed individuals.
